Stranded starfish

The weather is beautiful in St. Augustine Beach today.  A mild breeze cools the 92 degree weather.

Yesterday, I found over 50 small (quarter to half dollar sized) starfish washed up on the shore.  They were stiff and unmoving so I collected them and put them in a bucket of sea water.  Within 10 minutes, the starfish were crawling up the side of the bucket.  I waited until it was low tide to take them back to the sea in hopes they would get established in deeper waters and avoid being washed up ashore again as the tide came in and ebbed.  Only 3 out of the 50 didn't revive. Those I kept and will use in art work.

Enjoy your day today.
My Best,
Joan
